Rupert Hoecherl, Consultant of i+o Industry Planning + Organization L.P., will join the panel discussion “Work-to-Man or Man-to-Work. What are they? What Questions to Ask?” at this year’s MODEX in Atlanta, GA on February 8, 2012. Two material handling consultants from the APMHC group (part of MHIA) will join Rupert Hoecherl discussing the different picking principles that are typically used in today’s warehouses and distribution centers.

Solemn opening celebration of Miele in Dongguan/China – i+o as supervisor of implementation participates

On 30.11.2011 the solemn opening of the new Miele plant in Dongguan/China was celebrated. The family owned company decided to build a new plant to meet the increasing demand of household appliances in the Asian market. After the project duration of 18 months the opening event was for i+o consultants, too, a good opportunity to celebrate the plant’s start-up.

Start of implementation at Würth’s in Künzelsau - i+o is responsible for logistics and IT as well as for the overall project management

Würth is the worldwide leading specialist for assembly and fastening materials and has ambitious growth targets. As result of a site analysis, the family owned company decided to build an additional distribution centre at its headquarters in Künzelsau. The consultants i+o Industrieplanung + Organisation GmbH & Co. KG, Heidelberg, were awarded by Würth with the entire scope from concept design to implementation. The foundation stone for the new distribution centre was laid on 06.12.2011.

Lecture series at the University of Hohenheim is expanded by a practice related workshop

On 29.11.2011 a new lecture was given at the University of Hohenheim in master course of food sciences studies by i+o’s consultants Florian Hornuß and Stephan Wecker. The lecture is part of the series „Special aspects of food production and quality assurance“. It was followed by an all-day workshop organised to provide the students with the necessary reference to practice and allow them being actively involved in the planning.
