Workshop with Osman’s Spice in South Africa – experiencing the World Cup fever live
Durban - Jul 23, 2010
Fred Osman, Managing Director of Osman’s Spice Works CC in South Africa, assigned i+o Industry Planning & Organization in Heidelberg with the joint development of a landmark decision basis with regard to the expansion of the current production facility at the Durban location.Osman’s Spice works sells the spices brand “Osman’s Tajmahal”, which, beside high quality curry spices of all levels of spiciness, also processes coriander, fennel, mustard seeds, lentils and turmeric in its manufacturing plants. The company is one of Africa’s largest producers of spices. The production facilities in Durban, where the workshop took place, produce, among other things, spices, rice, beans and sauces products.
The workshop focused on the common development of concepts for the expansion of production and logistics as well as on considerations about packaging technologies that can be used in the future. Based on the results of the workshop, Osman’s Spice Works CC now has a fundamental decision basis for the further development of the location.
“I am impressed about how quickly – due to its experience – i+o was able to develop visionary concepts for us”, says Fred Osman, who is visibly convinced of the workshop’s results.
From the personal view of the two i+o consultants, Osman’s Spice Works CC chose a perfect date for the workshop: The soccer world championship’s semi-final between Spain and Germany took place in Durban. Thus the colleagues had the enviable opportunity to watch the match against Spain, feeling the captivating atmosphere in the stadium.
